From Jul 2006

Poured from 12oz bottle a straw gold with a medium sized head of foam that dissipated slowly leaving a solid layer on the beer and some lacing on the sides of the glass.

The smell is of sweet malt..typical for many of the pilsners I've had before.

The taste is rather smooth but there's definitely a lot of malt sweetness up front with a good infusion of hops that's rather bitter but not in a citrusy way...more of a grassy bitterness. The finish ends on a sweet note with some alcohol noticeable but not intrusive. Overall, this is a good representative of a Double Pilsner but...I'd find it a bit difficult to drink more than 1 at a sitting.

Revisited on June 2, 2008: I saw this on the shelf again after a long absence.(I think we in Casper missed out in 2007)

The only changes I could say for sure is that I now find it more drinkable than in my first review and it seems to have a better nose. I don't know what happened but dang, the alcohol is *very* well hidden this time around and my new scoring will reflect that. Darn good stuff!!

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours amber, nose is pineapple, toffee, taste is juicy fruit, sweet and cloying, more so the longer it warms.

Decent strong pils, not overly malty as some in this style. Normal pils color and body is slightly viscous, slightly sweet grain aroma. Taste is rather smooth and not too sweet, some honey and corn. Decent, but not the best.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a finger of white head. Aroma is bready with citrus and spicy hops. Taste is light bitter. Citrus with a spicy and herbal finish. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Crisp and refreshing with some slight warming at the end. Very good.
