Bottle from Top Cellar. Just over a month from its best before date. Hazy ruby body with a thin beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of banana bread and toffee. Flavour of caramel and marmalade. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. This is very good. It reminded me of Anchor’s Old Foghorn.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Lightly hazy, deep amber colour. Thin and dense, lasting, semi lacing, just off white head. Nose has a fair amount of sappy pine. Caramel and toffee cracknel malt. Sweet citrus hop. Taste has a spicy biscuit sweetness, turning full on, piny, and earthy hop bitter. Medium to full bodied. Foamy carbonation. Piny bitterness to finish. It’s like a big IPA that didn’t turn out right.
