Mixed Fermentation Double IPA.
On the nose Backcountry is a bright, fruity beer with enticing tropical hints of passionfruit. The flavours and mouthfeel defy expectation, showcasing a myriad of citrus flavours spanning juicy and fresh right through to a pithy finish.
A cedar wood infusion introduces echoes of sweetness, whilst over time, the combination of Brettanomyces and traditional brewer’s yeasts introduce additional layers of complexity.

Can. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Soft haze on a pale gold. Slim white head. Nose has lemon juice brett. White grape. Some lactic notes. As it warms, there’s some peach and passion fruit. Taste sets off sweet and a little milky, with a light, herbal bitterness. Smooth on the palate. Fine carbonation. Never a hint of the 8.7%. Light lemon brett to finish. Drinkable big hitter, but doesn’t pop like I’d hoped.
