Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, light amber colour. Dense and messy, sticky, lasting, white head. Nose is big on the Simcoe coming across resinous and sappy and a bit dank. Some ripe citrus. Some summer berry. Taste is sweet, upfront, turning chewy and resinous bitter. Plenty of body, with sappy sweetness on the lips. Robust, chewy bitter finish. Enjoyed the half I had very much, but I might not fancy much more than that.
