Malzig-hopfiger Beginn. Weich, angenehm würzig,, die Malzigkeit wird intensiver. Süffig, vollmundig, zum Ende bitter werdend, was aber hinter dem Malz zurückbleibt. 11/11/11/12/6/11

Bottle from Cave à Bulles, Paris
Hazy dark amber color with red; nice creamy head. Mild aroma, delicate; there is some wood, some vinous sourness and fruit, light roasted malts, light yeast. The body is rather thin, but I suspect that it refermented a bit in the bottle; dark chocolate flavor (not too strong), some roasted malt; there is a mild dusty character, and some light astringency and fruitiness that may come from the red wine barrel; ordinary bitterness; the final tends to be dry.
Not overwhelming, but well brewed and quite unique in France.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy opaque reddish brown with a creamy and lacing beige head. Sweet caramel aroma combined with a subtle and refined woodiness. Solid body, sweet caramel and overripe fruits again with a very pleasant woody touch. Hardly any hops. Very well made. 180212

Bottled. A hazy red beer beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, alcohol, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
