On tap at the brewery.
They poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of tan foamy head that dissipated at a great pace. Speckled lacing ran around the glass nicely.
The aroma had a big roasty coffee to cocoa bean. Robust with a smooth vanilla bean and then subtle cinnamon, seemingly only to balance.
The flavor leads with the robust coffee and cocoa bean tones. Vanilla comes in nicely. Then the cinnamon just like in the aroma. Well balanced milk choclatey aftertaste with any barely noticeable spice. Smooth milk chocolate finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sipping quality about it. Appropriately carbonated, smoothness takes some creepiness to over top the cinnamon.
Overall, extremely nice imperial stout that I would love to drink all Winter.

Tap, at the brewery. Just about black. Ring of dense, tan head. Leggy and viscous. Nose has dark chocolate caramel truffle. Bonfire toffee. Ovaltine. A hint of smoky paprika. Some woody notes, such that you might think it’s barrel aged. Big and chocolatey, and vinous. Taste is dry and vinous. Some cocoa sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth and slick. Drinks really easily. Chocolatey, nutty bitter finish. Lovely.
