A wonderfully balanced best bitter with good malty flavour and dark fruit notes, these are offset by a strong hop with a very clean finish. A great thirst quenching beer for any time of the day.

Bottle from Co-Op. Clear copper brown with small white top. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel and toasted nuts but there is berry and stone fruit note also. Taste of toasted cereals , grapefruit rind, grass and a hint of earthy resin. Light to medium bodied, well carbonated and semi-dry. Good bitter.

Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby Pours a mid-brown amber with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma of malts and nuts. However, in the mouth fruits dominate. Mainly sweet but with some bitterness, cherries and marzipan. A slightly bitter but fruity finish as well. This is nice – a much better bitter than their award winning Ay Up.
