Thanks Doug for growler share.
Mine was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a dusty/hazy burnt orange color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipates at a nice pace. Moderate sticky lace.
The aroma starts off with some sweet to lightly spiced pumpkin fleshiness. Combines subtle smoke with a dried maltiness underneath.
The flavor leans to a dried semi-sweet pumpkin flesh. Smoke again, slides in decently. Mild smoke to sweet malty pumpkin aftertaste with a brisk finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Smokiness helps smooth and round out the feel.
Overall, pumpkin ale with smoke to it, quite interesting and despite it’s name, not ugly in the aroma or flavor. The heady topper of pumpkin ales?, quite possibly, don’t look, as that’s why I guess they call it ugly.

Tap, at the brewery. Hazy amber colour. Ring of off white head. Nose has spice, along the lines of cinammon and ginger. Syrupy sweetness. Sweet grain. Taste is spicy dry, with some sweetness on the lips. Minimal bitterness. Light body. More spice on the finish. Not my favourite style.
