The name Botta’s came from the really old name for botley - Botta’s Leah,(Botley began as a Saxon village. Its name means Botta’s leah. Botta was a man and leah meant a clearing in a forest). A distinctive hop aroma. 3 hop, amber coloured bitter.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Orangeish ambery colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild toasted notes, some nuttyness as well as caramel. Flavour is sweet malts, mild toasted notes, some slight nutty notes along with mild tea leafs.

Cask conditioned at Reading BF 2012. Clear copper colour lasting beige head. Earthy best bitter. Some toffee bit of leafy earthiness on the finish. Bit of tingle. Yes simple but well put together. Fine

Cask (gravity) @ The 17th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2011, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average duration, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110429]

Cask (Southampton Beer Festival 2010) - Copper coloured. Fuity and malty aroma with hints of caramel. Fruity and malty taste with hints of dried fruit, nuts and toffee.
