A Rauch Beer lager brewed in the true Bamberg tradition. Smooth, assertive and well balanced. This beer was the winning recipe from the Norwegian homebrewer’s championship in 2011. We appreciate the fact that Erlann Eldorsen came to brew with us! Ingredients: Pilsnermalt, peated malt, crystal malt, Munich malt, hallertau and Tettnang hops, German lager yeast and Grimstad water.

Finally I got to taste a "local" brew. Erlann Eldorsen, the winner of the Norwegian homebrewer�s championship 2011, is from my hometown Bod� and have been homebrewing for many years. The beer pours a deep redbrown colour with a small light beige head. An undeniably smokey aroma with tar and leather. Has a nice and round smokey touch in the flavour as well, with some fruit, leather and wood. A slick mouth feel, and medium bitterness. This is a fantastic, well balanced, and easy drinking beer.

50 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg, on April 27, 2012BB 13.08.11, Batch 677Looks pretty much black in the light available, big lasting tan head. Malty, sweet, lactic, straw, smoke, char coal, a hint of licorice scent. Malty, sweet, smoke, licorice, char coal taste. Dry, charcoal aftertaste. Sort of moussy mouthfeel, though with a distinct dry finish. Medium high dry bitterness.

500 mL bottle from Greenville Beer Exchange. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown color with a medium sized frothy light brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of big smoky notes, caramel malts and bitter hops. The taste is herbal notes, bitter hops and huge smoky notes. Some apple and olives are in there was well. Medium bodied. Interesting.

cloudy brown smalll smooth offwhite head. very smoked aroma, smoke is burnt wood or peat, flavor is rosated malts, smoke, charchoal, burnt wood, ithink he smoke character is too strong compared to the roasted malts profile.

Bottled. An unclear red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of smoke, peat, wood, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, peat, smoke, minerals, alcohol, and roasted malt, leading to a dry smokey finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Theis. Pours a cloudy, murky brown with a beige head. Heavy, thick greasy smoke aroma. Medium body, sweet nutty, brown sugar with a little ashes. Fairly bitter finish. A decent Smoked. 180412
