Bottled@CPH BF 2013 (as Juleklokker Ekstra Lagret). Reddish copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is wood, some mild nutty notes as well as some slight spicyness. Flavour is very similar, but also has a bunch of yeast to it, which kind of ruins parts of it.

Sampled from a bottle, as Juleklokker Ekstra Lagret. Bright surface to a clear mahogany coloured body. Quite prominent smell of mid-sweet liquorice. The taste follows the nose with liquorice up front added by darker malts and yuletide spices. Medium bodied. Not too sweet. Decent seasonal brew (Ølfestival København, firs day 23.05.2013).

On tap at Fairbar. It pours an unclear brown body and a small beige head. There’s some liquorice in the aroma, but it’s mostly Belgian-style dried fruits, caramel and roasted notes. Some alcohol. There’s a touch of higher alcohol, as well as a pleasant warmth, with full body and a nice carbonation. Dried fruits, some roasted notes and liquorice, and some brown sugar in the flavour. Lasting finish with dried fruits and some liquorice. Although to warming, it’s a very fine late Christmas night beer. 121111
