Indian Ink was the winning beer in this years Homebrew Competition, it is a 6.5% Black IPA, and the winning brewer Ali Kocho-Williams came to the brewery to brew it with us. ‘Indian Ink’ was a unanimous and very popular choice with the judges. ‘Indian Ink’ is a Black IPA a very unusual and contempory style of beer; black to look at, but with very fruity aromas of tropical fruits, the taste is of tropical fruits, with a hint of liquorice & roast flavours, with a moreish resinous bitterness to finish.

On tap at the CP&K. Clear dark brown beer, tiny pale tan head. Light dry palate. Fresh piney hops but light. The dark malt is slighty earthy and robust with a trace of roastiness. The 2 elements seem very distinct from each other - no flow from one t’other! Still a nice beer though.
