Keg at St Andrews Card Hall. It pours clear deep red - brown with a small off -white head. The aroma is big, bitter - sweet, sticky, slap of booze, fruity Scottish whisky, umami, charred oak, liquorice, dried fruit, old leather sofa, Scottish tablet, booked sweets, fruit cake and jammy fruits. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, toothy, chewy, brown bread, dried fruits, jammy berry, toffee, caramel, fruit cake, touch of spice, fruity whisky, warming booze, boiled sweets, pic n mix and light tannin with a slick, fruity finish. Fulsome body and fine carbonation. Rather enjoyable stuff. Good depth and balance. Works for me.
