Pint from the tap at Tom's Tap & Brewhouse, pours red with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of smokey earth, tangy rye, citrus & malt. Medium body. Malty finish

On tap at Toms Tap & Brewhouse, Crewe. Pours a murky very dark burgundy with a small off-white head and good lacing. You can instantly tell this is a rye beer from the strong aroma. Bread rolls and a smokiness are also there. Rye again to the fore in the mouth, plus general grains, chocolate and dark fruits. Quite bitter in the finish. Nice beer with a decent punch. Incidentally the brewer says this was the first beer he ever brewed commercially.
