Bottle at the Nicholson’s pub in canary wharf. Red / orange gazed pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is prominent berry hop with a touch of citrus. Flavour is hop forward but nicely rounded with semi sweet caramel malts. Medium body with nice carbonation. Tasty beer.

Bottle from the Haymarket. Appearance - cloudy orange brown with a decent head. Nose - fresh mandarins Taste - something earthy and spicy maybe root vegetables. Bitter citrus finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - interesting and tasty. Another good beer from Redchurch. Not sure why it’s called Gold though.

Bottle at home, from ABM, 07/03/14. Hazed golden amber with a decent off white head that thins after a while. Nose is light pine, biscuit crumble, toffee, earthy hop pangs. Taste comprises, chalky mineral bite, earthhops, light pine jacket, caramel malt, bitter tropicana tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy hop bitterness in a semi drying close. Another solid offering from Redchurch.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits as soon as the bottle cap was off. Then some caramel, metal and a strange ashy note. Robust flavour of resin, chewy caramel, earth, yeast and a hint of black pepper. Nice bitterness but it tastes boozier than its 5.5% ABV. Full body with an oily texture. Light fizz. It’s a bit messy and there’s a weird ashy flavour, but I quite like it. Also, I’m not sure why it’s called ’Hackney Gold’ when it’s an Amber Ale.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy dark amber pour with thin beige head, earthy hop aroma, taste has piney hop caramel, some sourness got a hint of coffee which means my taste buds need rewiring.

330ml bottle. Clear ruby red dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Piney, herbal hop aroma, a touch of grapefruit. Taste is minimally bitter hoppy, piney, a touch of chalk, a sweaty touch of resin, chocolately malt basis. Slightly dirty - nice.
