Keg at the Brighton Beer Dispensary. It pours cloudy mahogany brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is rich, bitter - sweet, toffee, toasted brown sugars, chewy malt, varnish, pine, fruit cake, dried fruits and honeycake. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, rich, stewed orange, tinned peach, nectarine, toffee, touch of cola cubes, warming alcohol, pine, oak and light varnish with a touch of warmth in the finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Good depth, balance and drinkability. A nice contemporary take on barley wine. Nice work.
