Literally born in a dream: Larry Bell, president and founder of Bell’s Brewery, dreamt that he was at the mystically hidden retreat of Quinannan Falls, somewhere in the boreal north.
Neither Quinannan Falls nor the beer actually existed outside his imagination, but he remembered enough about it to sketch a recipe and label, which was put into full form by Michigan artist Kathleen Kalinowski, the following morning.
The end result is a dry-hopped lager that possesses a crisp, dry bitterness you would expect from a German pilsner, but the use of highly aromatic Simcoe hops from the Pacific Northwest, evoke the fragrant pine forests that inspired this beer.

tap at 800 Degrees in Ft Wayne - Pours golden with a lingering one finger head. The aroma is of hops with some lightly toasted malt. It tastes moderately bitter with ample citrus accented hops. The carbonation level is just right and with the medium body creates a very nice mouth feel. There’s lingering bitterness and it’s a refreshing brew. Very good.

I am not sure about the "premium lager" categorization, as it is nothing like a pale lager or a pils. Nice golden color, and before I try it, I am hoping Bell’s has finally made a Bohemian Pilsner. But this is something entirely different. Aroma with some grass and hops. Lots of hops in the flavor, citrus, as well as a bread/malt flavor. Very drinkable, with an appropriately thin palate.

Tap @ Eccentric Cafe. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is hoppy and flowery. Flavour is bitter hoppy, maybe some herbs? Soft malty.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Clear straw body, thin to medium off-white head. A lager with the citrus, pine, and spruce of an APA or IPA, paired with light bready malts that lack sweetness or heft. A tad more "refreshing" than a hoppy ale, but I would typically choose the ale or a more subtle helles or dortmunder.

Tap at Bells. Pours a light gold with litltle head and convincing Cascade aromas. Mmmm pine. Flavor is about like the offspring of an IPA and a lager and it is really good.
