Cask at the White Horse. It pours deep brown, nr black with a medium off-white head. The nose is earthy, roast, toast, cocoa and charred wood. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, cocoa, coffee grinds, with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and very drinkable. Tasty.

Cask-conditioned at the Market Porter, Southwark 14/10/10. Deep, ruddy brown with a slight tan head. Sweetish aroma with some caramel, fruit and roasted malts. Flavours of berry fruit and chocolate with a touch of roasted malts before a decent bitter finish. Tried immediately after the Kings old ale and lacked its depth and character.
