Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thick dark brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, roasted malt, alcohol, and a bit of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours completely pitch black with a thick and lacing light brown head. Sweet and solid aroma of dark and bitter chocolate. Solid body, heavy dark roast, very bitter roastiness - perhaps a bit much. 161211

Bottle thanks to cquiroga. Pours with a deep brown body and a small tan head. Aromas of vanilla, a bit of spice, prunes, and a TON of roast. Ashy, chocolate (bitter), coffee, a bit astringent. Flavors are extremely roasty (overly so), a bit astringent, quite bitter, some chocolate, brown sugar and spicy notes. Medium to slightly fuller bodied, medium bubbles.

Waxed bomber from Malt and Vine. Imperial Rye Stout. 8.5 % ABV. Pours very black with virtually no head, hardly even bubbles. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark burnt malt, and I think anise. Med body. Mild carb. Very light coffee and chocolate with some burnt malt. It’s smooth, and I think the rye kicks in at the finish rendering this dryer than expected and astringent. Very nice.
