Cask-conditioned at the Sussex beer festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 4/1/2011. Deep gold with a slight, off-white head. Slightly sweet aroma with some leafy hop. Flavours of caramel and biscuit malts with a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Farnham. Slightly hazy amber in colour with a billowing white head; aroma of dried hops and biscuit; light crisp citrusy flavour, with well-balanced sweetness and a fresh lightly bitter hop finish. Very pleasant.

5ooml bottle. Hazy orange-tan color. Thin, soapy, off-white head. Mellow, malty aroma, almost a touch of soft peach. Creamy, soft on the palate with a piny dryness in the aftertaste. Some rich specialty malt over a toasty golden backbone. the hops really are pretty solid, and complement the fruity ale yeast tones. Solid beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a transient white head. Nice floral aroma. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is mild caramel malt with a floral, mild spice, aspect. It is nicely bitter. The spice aspect continues in the finish. It’s very nice.

Half from gravicask at London Drinker BF 08. Dark golden body under a thin white head. Aromatic nuances of malts and fruity hops. Bitter fruit accented flavour followed by bready malts and nuts. Hop bitterness in a nice finish. Well made best bitter (evening session, 13.03.2008).

Bottle from Tesco. Amber colour, quite rich in mouth bit creamy buttery (diacetyl?) Good solid tangy hop finish. Not bad. 3/6 Cask handpull at The Pullman, Folkestone. Deepish gold, lasting bubbly white head. Quite a nice bitter, some good yeast, very nice hop on finish. Biting. Moderate body with a surprisingly good bitterness on the finish.

Bottled. Deep ornage colour. Neutral aroma. Sweet and fruity with clean maltiness. A tremendously bitter finish gives the impression that you have been drinking ink.
