Another collaboration with Cushwa and the counterpart to Above, Below is an 8% hoppy lager, constructed to mirror the core components of its sibling Double IPA. That means we started with the same German pilsner malt base, a similar dash of rye, and a smidge of Carapils. No oats or wheat, though. Let’s be reasonable here.

We employed the identical hops in roughly the same order. Waimea at the very end of the boil. Mosaic Cryo in the whirlpool. And Vic Secret, Strata, and Wai’iti as an assertive dry-hop.

All those notes of citrus, pineapple, grapefruit, and peachy stone fruit… but in a Double IPL. Which is a style that totally exists and we did *not* make up. To be honest, we’re getting a West Coast IPA vibe from this one.
