Old rating from 2015 - 500ml bottle, pours black with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of nuts, raisins, coffee, caramel, earth, grass, herbs, hints of chocolate & spice. Moderate body. Dry light bitter finish

440ml can from Home Bargains. Dark brown pour with moderate sized beige head, leaves nice top and lacing Aroma has sweet malts, toffee, molasses, some liquorice; all subtle aromas but pleasant. Taste is sweet with light roasted notes which run through, chocolate, liquorice, some metal. Light to medium bodied. More flavoursome than I was expecting for a cheap 4 pack from Home Bargains. However, it has a rising sweetness with not enough bitter notes in the finish to offset and therefore at times was a bit sickly. I have images of teens in parks drinking this for the sugar effect. I know CAMRA are worried about the style dying out, maybe they could encourage it. The Alco-Mild, its the future!
