Keg at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. It pours dark mahogany brown wjrg a small beige head. The aroma is warming spice, tangy dark fruit, orange peel, cinnamon, Jamaican ginger bread, oak, raisin, sultana and fruit cake. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, plenty of spice, dried leaves, oak, warming alcohol, leather, orange peel, pithy, earth with a spiced finish. Mediun+ body and fine, prickly carbonation. A proper autumnal ale.

Bottle from Homebrew Bottle Shop, Oxton in Birkenhead. Appearance - deep brown to black with lighter brown chinks. Big fluffy fawn head. Nose - molasses, hazelnuts. General praline thing. Taste - nuts, marzipan. Cherry. Burnt toffee or molasses. Nougat. Palate - rich and close to full bodied. Sweet and creamy but not too sweet. Overall - really lovely and interesting beer.
