This American-made hefe delivers the style’s classic fruit and spice, plus a few new twists. Clove, banana, white pepper and pear scents entwine in an intricate aroma that preludes a balanced sip. A soft wheat base skims over the tongue before clove spice emerges to counter the blossoming sweet bubblegum and fruity pear and berry notes. This beer treads lightly on the tongue, but its vivid, fresh flavors charm the taste buds.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 9/20/11
Aroma: The nose is a mix of orange, yeast, banana, clove, and bubblegum notes
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy yellow color with a fizzy white head and medium lace
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, same components as the nose, yeasty, and some spice
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a lively carbonation to it, and an average-to-lengthy finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a decent hefe. It has most of the classic components to it, and it works alright. It's a little overly carbonated, and it doesn't have anything standout about it, but it still isn't a bad one.

Pours a hazy golden-orange with gentle bubbles and a decent head - it falls back to leave a thin layer of lace. The nose has pineapple sorbet. The taste has a tangy yeast but there is a low malt note in the background which detracts somewhat from the big sweet fruity notes. The palate has a medium structure, a tangy but thin texture through the middle and it cleans pretty well, even if that’s just because the middle was pretty light anyway. Overall, it’s a weak example of a weizen.

A hazy weizen with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a lightly sulfure banana aroma, with rotten eggs. In mouth, a rather light weizen with crips malt, light fruity notes, light bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009.

Light banana aroma. How hefe. Cloudy gold color with a white head that does a bit of lacing. Starts with banana and yeast, and wheat. Medium bodied, tends to thin as the carbonation effervesces, but it becomes creamy. There is clove development, but not overly much. The ale develops a bitter quality, that battles with the yeast and banana. It’s really very good.

Slighty hazy gold with a small white head, i didn’t swirl the bottle. Grainy wheaty, yeasty aroma with only a tiny hint of banana; Malty, banana, flavor, but not the best hefe, flavor better than the aroma.
