Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 32A: base 9A). Can 50 cl - Batch 12.05.2025 (canned on 12.11.2025 - BB: 12.052025). AROMA: medium-high smoky aroma (ham-like and slight burnt rubber). slight malty background with a sweet character. APPEARANCE: amber color and clear. medium-low beige head with average retention. slight lace formation. TASTE: initial medium-high sweet malt flavor quickly overwhelmed by medium-high smoky notes (burnt, rubber, slight ham) and an excessive bitterness for the style. finishes semi-sweet and overly bitter. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with medium carbonation. slight astringency and smooth alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: a doppelbock where the smoked malt character completely takes over and with odd excessive bitterness for a doppelbock.
