Draft at the source. Pours a hazy light copper color with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, bread, and fruit notes. Taste is malt, caramel, toasty, and lager-like. Can’t decide if this is more like a lager or more like a dunkel. Underwhelming.

Draft at the source. Color is dark golden orange; overall a much lighter hue than a typical Dunkles. Aroma reminded me more of a pils at times, with some floweriness and with the roasted notes remaining overall very subdued. Some caramel, but also something off, like foul water. Taste is bittersweet. Occassional grainy notes. Overall I had this one much better in my memory since my last visit here over 10 years ago. A disappointment.

On tap at the brewpub. Leicht trübes dunkel orange goldenes Bier mit einer fingerbreiten weißen schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschmack sehr karamellig, röstmalzig, im Abgang würzig und floral hopfig.

(draught at the brewpub) Cloudy, amber to orange colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Caramel-malty and subtle grainy aroma. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly greenish, worty cara-malty aroma with subtle grainy and fruity notes; sweet and mildly bitter finish with a lasting caramelly aftertaste. Okay by German brewpub standards. 26.I.14

Draught at the brauhaus
Cloudy amber color, with creamy head. Nice malt aroma, grainy, with a touch of biscuits. Malt flavor, sweetish in the front, but also with a medium perception of alcohol and bad (dirty) water; traces of dusty toasted malt; the final is almost unpleasant; ordinary bitterness.

Draught @ Alt-Oberurseler Brauhaus, Alt-Oberurseler Brauhaus, 61440 Oberursel, Hesse, Germany.Unclear light to medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, light roasted, earthy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO good beer just a bit common and borring. [20111111]

Muffiger, behäbig getreidiger Antrunk. Laff, etwas Hefe und Herbe. Später etwas hefiger, leider immernoch muffig. In Ordnung. 9/9/9/11//9
