The 2011 Chocolate Stout is aged in a Brett barrel for 1 year. Lots of wine-like dark fruit and subtle earthiness blend well with the smooth dark chocolate character. With a base of 2011 Chocolate Stout, this barrel aged beer rarely sees the light of day outside of our breweries.

Sample from 2011 batch at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VI on 10/03/2014. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Aroma of malt, chocolate and brett. Medium body with flavors of tart fruit, chocolate malt and earthy yeast. The finish is mildly sour with a black cherry and dark chocolate aftertaste. Above average overall.
