Our lightest beer, made from 100% malted barley. This blonde lager is what sailors really swam to shore for; it’s light, with very little bitterness and a slight malt finish.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, light bitter hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry, light sweet malt, light floral citrus hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy deep blond color. It has some malt/cereal quality, dryish but with a soft mouthfeel, with regular (read: low) bitterness.
Easy, but not bad.

Cloudy blonde. Mellow pale malt aroma, sweetish palate, mostly pale malts, touch of huskiness and touch of bitterness. Clean, refreshing blonde, good for a Hawaiian afternoon.

Can. A- Sweet, malty, peanuts, pineapple. A- Pale yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Peanut butter, slightly sweet, malty, cereal, toast. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- Hot damn. This is hands down my favorite lager of all time. Wasn’t expecting something quite this good. All the great things one could expect from a regular lager, but for me there was a noticeable nutty flavor that just knocked it out of the park. Everything about this beer screamed balanced, smooth, and delicious. And the can artwork is fine too! I just wish you could have a lager that wasn’t a piss yellow color. Oh, well, best out of the can anyways.

Keg at the brewpub, Maui, 23/04/14. Clear light golden with a moderate off white swirl/spotting. Nose is pale malts, straw, cereals, light citric, toasted bread. Taste comprises corn, pale malt, light vanilla, hint of citric. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so but OK for style.

Another one of the strange can selection on my Fred Olsen cruise liner: this was the only US brewed beer onboard. I had this off the coast of Mexico on 21st March 2014. Poured a hazy old gold colour with no head at all. Maltier than I expected with a light hop content just about stopping the brew becoming too sweet. Not for me, but glad I got the chance to try another beer from Hawaii, I don’t get the chance very often.

Coarseish offwhite head doesn’t last. Hazy yellow body with visible particles. Caramelly toffee aroma with strawy resiny notes. Sweet-dryish sugary citric toffee taste with caramelly notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish strawy toffee and cake aftertaste with spicy resiny notes. Nice, drinkable, unusual. A bit slack, though. (0.355l can from Toft Vin, Copenhagen.)
