On tap at Rustico Alexandria, pours a nearly opaque black with some frothy, grey head. Nose is alright, malt, toast, roast, some pine, lightly vegetal. Flavor has more roast and more pine, soap, a big green vegetal note here. Dry and bitter on the finish.

Half liter bottle thanks to hershiser2. Black, large foamy brown head, good retention. Aroma of roast, fruity and floral hops, chocolate. The taste is chocolate, roast, nuts, soy, leather, herbal hops. Medium bodied, well balanced, tasty. Very nice.

Draft at Spacebar. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a nice looking tan head on top. Really nice roast and floral hop notes. Tasty. Some light bitterness. Chocolate. Really nice.

Sharp roast and bitter hops like losing the long jump contest. Black pour with decent head. Very bitter. Tap at Galaxy Hut.

Draft: Charred oak, dark chocolate hints, walnut, charcoal on the nose. Black, thin head, good lacing. Charred oak and pine in equal measure. Medium body, easy carbonation. Wonderful and even sessionable!

Re rating. comments below are the same but I think the overall flavor has been refined. Tap at beer run. Pours black. Aroma is roasted barley, roasted malts. Flavor is roasted barley, somewhat burnt, light licorice, dark burnt coffee- similar to the bottom of the pot at a diner.
