Bottle very kindly passed on by Nigel (Hopshackle brewer) Many thanks Nigel, shared with friends at Merton Summer Beer Festival July 17th 2010 I’m afraid that my notes are very sketchy as they were taken onto my phone. Really tangy, soft mouthfeel, the bitterness in particular coffee simply glides through this. Quite malty and plenty of warmth from the alcohol. Quite shocked that this was based on an English Strong Ale, I think Nigel’s wonderful experimentation has moved this away from that category but as I was unsure where else this should go ESA is where I put it, though when we were trying these I think that a few of us would have been led to believe that this was a stout.
