Elegant flavour! Our Ottakringer Pils was the first of its kind in Austria, and is a classic as far as bitter beer is concerned! Brewed in accordance with the Pilsner tradition with 11 degrees of original gravity, the aromatic hops and Pilsner malt type give our Pils the characteristic intensive aroma and light colour. Brewed from soft, full-bodied water from our brewery well, Ottakringer Pils provides an invigorating taste!

Die Goldfassl-Reihe der Ottakringer-Brauerei gibt es schon recht lange. Vor einigen Jahren erfuhr sie eine Verjüngungkur und zusätzlich wurden einige Sorten hinzugefügt. Das Pils ist aber ein alter Hase und war stets ein edles Bier. Es wurde beim European Beer Star 2016 mit Gold prämiert und somit zum besten Bier in der Kategorie German-Style Pilsner gekürt. Ein Fakt, das viele bis heute nicht verstehen. Aber bleiben wir neutral. Das Bier überzeugt durch eine frische Bitterkeit, trotz der es aber süffig bleibt. Ein solides Pils, das man gut und gerne trinken kann.

Half liter at a caffe in the Naschmarkt in Vienna. Pours brassy gold with a creamy white head. Aromas of grass and bread. Very cold beer, so aroma is light. Med body. Flavor is bready, grassy and bitter. Nicely bitter. Liking it.

Bottle. Clear, yellow body, with a medium, creamy, white head. Light aroma of herbs, grass, grains. Taste is watery and bitter, with about the same aromas, also some honey like sweetness and some acidity. Mouthfeel is light, slick, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter and slightly dry with not many aromas. Not much to tell about this. Boring Lager for the masses.

Draught at Vienna Airport. Clear golden, mid sized head. Fruity grassy nose. Mid dry with mediun body and firm, well rounded mouthfeel. Salty grassy hops. Mid bitter finish. More hoppy and less sweet than most traditional Austrian beers.

Tap at Vienna airport. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head and lots of carbonation. The aroma is maltty with some yeast in the background. The flavour is medium to weak bitter with some chewy malt and a smooth palate. It’s a malty pils and when you are thirsty I gues it hits the mark!
