Elegant flavour! Our Ottakringer Pils was the first of its kind in Austria, and is a classic as far as bitter beer is concerned! Brewed in accordance with the Pilsner tradition with 11 degrees of original gravity, the aromatic hops and Pilsner malt type give our Pils the characteristic intensive aroma and light colour. Brewed from soft, full-bodied water from our brewery well, Ottakringer Pils provides an invigorating taste!

Bottle. It pours a clear, golden body and a small, white head. The aroma is rather bad, cellary and cardboardy with some fruityness. The flavor is pretty much the same, rather poor with cellar and cardboard, some fruityness. Seriously lacking on bitterness. Medium to thin body, a bit low on carbonation. Certainly not a beer Iโll drink again. 111105

Free rating at Vienna airport lounge, as Gold Fassl Pils, simply
Blond color. The aroma is almost non-exisiting; the mouthfeel is very dry, with enough bitterness, light paper and hay flavor and not much more. Poor.

Bottle: Pale golden to golden, mid-sized, lacy fluffy white head; sweet pale malt and aromatic hops in the nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; becomes drier towards the grassy-hoppy finish. Good beginning, weaker finish......

0.33l bottle brought from Wien by a friend (thanks a lot, Ivana!) Poured a pale golden body with a small white head. Malty nose, a bit honeyish. The taste then proceeds to be completely different. Quality spicy-piney hopiness, with malt being there as an afterthought. A fine bitter pils, much better than I hoped or expected it would be, but far too one dimensional to be a world beater.
