Bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours hazy copper color with off white head. Aromas of caramel and iced tea. Not really any hops in the nose. Not any hops in the flavor. Toasted malt and caramel flavors and not all that good. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Craig.

500ml bottle pours a transparent, copper amber with a creamy, lacing off white head. Nice aroma, sweet, caramel, malty, spicy, a little juniper, allspice, yeast, flowers, orange zest. Flavor is sweet, cookie dough, caramel, pine, cinnamon, orange, candy, malts, spices. Medium bodied, sticky, spicy finish. Very unique. They really coaxed a lot of flavor out of this and all of it seems authentic.

500ml bottle from BevMo Salinas. Nose of carmel, nuts, and light vanilla. Clear rust with a medium beige head. Flavor is caramel and bits of vanilla and smoky malt.

Bottle (appears to be a reused Pliny bottle). Whoa, no head space whatsoever! Pours a clear auburn with minimal off-white head. Aroma of vanilla, dates, raisins, banana/estery yeast. Some chocolate. Slight oat-bran cereal. Smells a bit like a weizenbock. Taste is dry, bitter, chocolate, dates, and an odd earthy/dirt like aftertaste. Lively bubbles, bone dry. Something lacking in the execution. Maybe some tannin extracted from the grain, but something is a bit off.

500 ml. from the Natomas BevMo. Pours a dark ruddy amber with a 4 finger foamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is dark roast carmel with yeast/spice and some fruitiness. Touches of bubblegum and banana. It’s in the right style category, but it comes out more roast malt and less spice/fruit than I’d expect. Drinks all right. Finishes with a herby bitterness to offset the malt.
