On tap at the Brew Pub, Philadelphia 18-11-08. Pours deep amber/dark copper in colour with a white head. There is a slight metallic edge to this beer but with some good spicy sausageyness as well, a bit of Bratwurst leaps out every now and again. Whilst this beer seems to the lack the depth and complexity of some other smoked in particular some of the best German examples its still a very drinkable beer with nice smokey woodiness, good meaty flavours. @Philly-on tap-pours a thin rich light tan head with amber/brown color. Aroma is spices-clove and smoke that blends nicely, medium malt-sweet. Taste is spices-clove and lots of smoke-fish/campfire that blends nicely, medium malt-sweet. Dry finish. Not my taste but nicely done. Occasional.
