Elbow Patches Oatmeal Stout aged in Rum-Maple Syrup barrels.
Our dark & smooth flagship Stout spent more than six months aging in barrels that were originally used for rum production in Trinidad and Barbados. From the Caribbean the barrels journeyed to the Green Mountain State, where small maple syrup producers filled them with syrup.
In addition to the dark chocolate and roasted coffee notes of Elbow Patches, Maple Patches features warming hints of vanilla, rum, and maple. Sometimes...you’re the only one who needs to know what’s in your coffee mug.
Elbow Patches: Roasty, Creamy, Chocolatey. An Oatmeal Stout to be enjoyed with breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anytime in between. The use of flaked oats creates a smooth, velvety base that sets the stage for pronounced aromas reminiscent of chocolate and coffee. The surprising lack of astringent bitterness rounds out this dark beer's wide appeal.

Tap. Pours black, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is rummy, cocoa, ashtray, maple syrup. Flavors is medium sweet, light plus bitter, roasty. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. This one does pretty well with the barrel treatment given the low ABV. 5,7,8,5,14
