2018 bottle shared. Thanks to whoever brought this one. Pours a deep black to brown with some purple highlights. Decadent nose with fig, plum, cacao nib and brownie with some mild coffee and vanilla as it warms up. ABV hidden masterfully. Smooth and decadent dark fruit with dark chocolate and milk chocolate flavors. Lingering fig, cacao and treacle notes on the finish. Smooth and dangerously drinkable at 18%.

12oz bottle thanks to toby at 2017 RIS tasting, 2010 vintage. Near black pour, small beige head. Big roasty, boozy aroma, mild smoky character. taste adds some sweetness, not too much, more roast grains and gentle warmth. Aged very well.

Bottle at the 10th Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. 2010 Vintage. Deep brown pour with a small ring of head. Aroma is heat, deep roasted malts, and a little smoky. Tastes heavy in roasted malts, a litle smoky, and some pit fruit. Very warming. Thanks to Toby for sharing this one.

12oz bottle thanks to toby. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is booze roast malts chocolate ash this is doing good still. Taste is more of the nice roast malts chocolate ash sweetness.

2010 bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small frothy beige head that lasts. The aroma is vanilla, roast, raisin, wood. Thin mouthfeel, strong chocolate, roast, very boozy, good.

Bottle @ Darkness Day eve, thanks to StFun for sharing. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Dark chocolate, burnt sugar, caramel, and some booze in the nose. Fairly clean but a little boozy flavor. A little roast and more dark chocolate in the flavor. Fun.

2010 vintage bottle from the 2013 Winter Solstice party. Aroma has a moderate chocolate character with lighter roast and coffee notes. Moderate soy sauce oxidation character. Light alcohol spice. Pours black with a somewhat light mocha head of moderate thickness. The head recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers along with a faint film in the middle. No lacing and medium sized legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with moderate roast notes. Moderately strong dark fruit notes of cherry, berry and grape. Medium to medium light bitterness without any hop flavor. Medium light soy sauce and other oxidation character. Light alcohol spice in the finish with lingering grape, roast and chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with low carbonation. Medium low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall this is not an amazing beer. The oxidation creates a moderately unpleasant character and the berry ester notes are a bit strong. The malt notes have faded as well.

Alkoholischer Beginn, dem die Malznoten nur untergeordnet sind. Brennend, deutliche Vanillenoten. Vergorene Früchte hinter dem Malz, aromatisch, trockene Röstnoten. Stark alkoholisches Bier, das aber dennoch gelungene weiche Aromen hervorbringt. 9/12/9/12/10/11

Bottle at DSG 2011. black colour with a tan hean head. Aroma is licorice, malt, alcohol, coffee. Flavour is licorice, alcohol, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Nice beer.
