Bottle courtesy of dkachur on 11/22/2008. Dark black body with a huge frothy light tan head that exploded and left quite the mess on the carpet. Huge chocolate aroma with some molassas and sour hints. More sour flavor, some caramel, molassas and raisin hints. Full body with moderate carbonation from some excessive carbonation.

Bottle that was kindly passed on in a trade by the marvellous Miketd when we met in NYC in Nov 08, cheers mate. Pours shark eye black peeling away to dark brown at the edges where what light that was able to penetrate this beer just about did. If there was a head it disappeared in the blink of an eye probably being sucked down into the oily and murky depths. Taste was very bitter but beyond this was brine, big liqourice and some really really dark bitter chocolate with even a touch of bitter orange peel. After a few sips I then got a very hoppy burp which was quite strange as hops was something that had not registered on the radar up until that point. I really did not realise the strength unlike Loz and my mum who were both convinced that this was rather pokey in the abv stakes. A very good Impy Stout, once again cheers Mike. A7 A4 F7 P4 OV14 3.6

2007 Bottle thanks to mar. Pours with a dark brown head and a deep brown body. Good lacing. Aroma is flowery with alcohol, smoke, soy sauce and coffee. Taste is alcohol and teriyaki with a bit of the KRE malt bill and salt. Syrupy mouthfeel, but somewhat over carbonated.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of goryskewych. Thanks! Pours a deep nearly black color. The head is massive, as in, all over the room. Huge gusher here. Aroma of chocolate, alcohol and some tart cherry that definitely should not be there, but actually kinda works with the beer. Taste is chocolate covered cherries with bitter hop notes. Clearly there is an infection here, but it does not detract that much from the beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a muddy dark brown with floating impurities and a creamy light brown head. Fruit, burned malt and a distinct burning alcohol in the nose. Quite full-bodied but with a low carbonation. Notes of nots and fruit - dried and overripe - and then again this roaring alcohol in the finish. Wauw - extreme! 270708
