12oz bottle pours dark brown with amber hues and thin light tan head. The aroma offers up prunes and dates as well as some malts, some crystal malts and maybe nuttiness too. The taste has some roasted malts, spicy maple and spicy to earthy hop notes to start. It gets slightly roasty with malts into the finish. It ends with lingering anise like spiciness, spicy hops and earthy hops. Pretty hop forward brown.

My bottle says brewers brown ale so I hope I’m in the right place, 12 oz twist off cap bottle. First aroma is rather slaglike someswhat like gram ma’s permanant hair treat ment. Taste certainly is much more than the 4% listed here would indicate. Good level of co2. A rather full personality bitter dark beer but different bitter than a impy. Yes quite a dusty personality. Some raosty candy personality hidden behind the tree. Different for a change.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours really dark brown with a 1 finger creamy beige head. It has that fairly typical dark roast "brown" malt aroma. And there is that "hint of chocolate". Near med body with mild carbonation. There is chocolate flavor, but I get that diacetyl impact that doesn’t help the flavor. After the start the flavor sort of goes everywhere and nowhere. It ends sort of lightly chocolate and not too sweet, not too bitter. Doesn’t connect for me.

Bottled@Man In The Moon, Stockholm. Deep copper colour with small beige head. Aroma is quite much caramel malts, some slight syrup, chocolate and quite much earthyness. Flavour is caramel malts, toffee, some syrup, mild burnt sugar as well as some slight toasted notes. Mild chocolate as well as dark fruity notes also once it warmed up a bit.

Provdatum: 2009-09-03 D: Newcastle brown ale + kaffe U: Cocacola färgad med julmust skum S: Som en Newcastle, men lite torrare och någon metallisk bismak. Faktiskt helt OK men "orginalet" rules. Brukar bli besviken på Shippyard men inte denna gång... ES: söt syrlig mjuk dimma Anteckningar:

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Butterscotch aromas. Sharp, sour butterscotch upfront with a lastin sour malt finish.

Bottle. Dark color, very similar to Coca Cola. Not much foam when I poured the beer. Butter and sweetness in the aroma and roasted malt and yeast. Maybe some chocolate also. The taste? Brown sugar is what I first thought of then there was the roasted malt. Fruit and bears. Body was thin.

Tap at OTH. Pours copper, thin white head. Aroma is malty with light fruits. Taste, malty, fruity, more on the light berry side, weak. Not bad, but just very one dimensional with nothing that really stands out.
