he Golden Prairie Brewery brewed it’s first batch in Chicago in 1991. Golden Prairie Ale, a balanced Altbier, was our flagship brand. Brewmaster Ted Furman thought of it as “the perfect beer.” An ale that is aged for a smooth, balance between the flavors of malt and hops. Enjoy the historic taste of the original!

Pour is a hazy redish brown with with a foamy tan head. Aroma is a nice sweet toasted caramel with some cherry and nuts. Flavor is again a toasted caramel malt with a little brown sugar and dark fruit. This reminded me of a Orval without the brett yeast used.
