With the current state of craft beer and all of its extremes, it’s easy to pass over the classics, so we’re here to remind you that they are classics for a reason! This beer brings all the things to love about ESB but adds a subtle twist. We start with our favorite Maris Otter base malt topped off with a bit of pale English crystal and a sprinkling of black malt. This amber hued beauty was hopped throughout the boil with UK grown Fuggles, then finished in the whirlpool with a new UK varietal called Harlequin (all from the greats @charleshopfaram ). Harlequin melds old world English hop character with some new school fruitiness that perfectly complements the ester profile from one of our favorite English ale strains. We’re getting notes of toasty fresh bread, caramelized brown sugar, grilled pineapple, and earl grey tea. English Ale will prevail!

Draught @ The Pony Bar, Manhattan NYC. Clear copper brown with a large creamy beige head, caramel aroma, medium carbonation, mildly sweet caramel taste with toffee, smooth thin body, long caramel finish. The ‘bitter’ aspect seems to be missing from this ESB.
