Clear amber pour, creamy white head.
Some light pine hops, but the aroma is dominated by caramels malts. Quite bitter, pithy, peppery citrus peel. Lingering dry bitterness, with more sweet malts.

A hazed dark amber DIPA with a thick frothy lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with piney floral hops, resinous and smooth, light oxidation and alcohol warmth, still solid. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with grassy floral hops, resinous and piney, light oxidation, treacle , very nice. This was the 9% version made by Rahr & Sons. B

12 ounce bottle, 7/11/14. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of candied citrus, resin, caramel. The taste is bitter resin hops, citrus, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, moderate lingering bitterness.

From a 355ml bottle on 22/7/2014. Pours a murky apricot with a small uneven head. Has quite a strong malt dominated aroma of caramel and toffee. Flavour wise, it’s very malt forward - more sweet caramel and toffee, along with some stone fruit. This is set off against some lovely, lingering, big resiny hops. Has a slightly creamy palate and quite lively carbonation. At 7%, I’m not sure it really is a DIPA, but it’s actually very enjoyable, and criminally under-rated on here imo.

Pours ruby-tinted amber with a large, lasting head.Heavy malt on the nose along with piny resinous hops. Very malty aroma.Very malty flavours too, clean sweet malt throughout. Also piny and minty hops with a bit of resinous bitterness in the finish.Carbonation is a little aggressive.
