This exclusive hand brewed real ale for The Lade Inn situated in the Trossach’s National Park, uses only natural ingredients and pure Scottish water. A robust and satisfying dark ale with a complex flavour of liquorice and dark chocolate, that is rewarding on the palate. Brewed by TRYST Brewery.

Old rating - 500ml bottle, pours light brown with a white head. Aromas & tastes of coffee, liquorice, nuts, earth & malt. Medium body. Light bitter finish

On cask at Lade Inn, Kilmahog - cloudy brown with an off white head. Smoky liquorice notes but a little lacking in the flavour. Some fruitiness but fairly meh.

Dark brown and fairly cloudy. Aroma and flavour have dark malts and sweet liquorice root.

500ml bottle via Dad. Pours dark brown with a lively, but short lived white head. Dark chocolate and liquorice nose, nutty, liquorice taste.

Cask at the Lade Inn. Pours dark brown, nose is sweet, roast malts, blackcurrant, taste is quite sweet, dry, fruity. 3.4 Tried this again on 9/6/17, chocolatey, fruity, roasted, tasting a lot better than it used to. 3.7

500ml bottle from the Scottish Real Ale Shop. Pours clear dark brown, no head. Aromas are light liquorice, light dark chocolate, cocoa powder in fact. Taste is sweet toffee. Thin body, short finish. Passable.

On cask at the Lade Inn. Appearance - opaque black with a nice head. Nose - roast aromas with gentle chocolate and toffee. Taste - creamy gentle chocolate and toffee. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry finish. Overall - decent but Nose better than Taste.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, sour berries, light metalic. Flavour is moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, dark malt, fruity - berry, chocolate malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111001]

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, light earthy, chocolate, malt and hops.

Clear dark red with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, dark malty and caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 011011
