A dark brown body is supported by the light scent of banana, pears, blackberries, vanilla, cloves, warm dark cocoa, fresh coffee and tupelo honey intermingled with malty, toasted nutty flavors. Subdued hop notes round out this strong full-bodied Belgian style Brown.

This one was not bad but nowhere near as good as the tripel. Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is sweet and tangy with ripe fruits present. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. The flavor is sweet tangy malts with a nice ripe fruit presence and a bit of nut. There is a mild alcohol burn and a bitter finish. The malts are a bit too light for this style of beer - I wish that there was a richer malt element.

Classic deep red-brown body, topped by a medium light cream head. Aroma of dark fruit (including cherries), spices, toast, and alcohol. Sweet, fruity, spicy body with toasted malts. Slightly bitter finish with slight alcohol. Definitely has the basics down, but this certainly isn’t the best Dubbel I’ve sampled, being a bit too thin and spice-dimensional. That said, this is still enjoyable and a solid beer. It simply has strong company.

Tap at the Archer: Brown, lasting tan head.Rich malt nose.More yeast than malt in the taste, undesireable for the style. Slightly tinny. Not a great effort.

Bottled. Dark brown, brief beige head. Aroma of plum brandy and coffee. Sweet and roasty, softly malty with drier, salty bitter finish. Decidedly more balanced than their Triple.

Bottle. Brown, slightly reddish, beer with a quickly dissapearing beige-head. Sweet malt aroma that’s got some yeast and slight fruitiness to it. The flavor is complex - sweet malt, fruit, yeast, and more, but the trend is toward a slightly swete aftertaste that doesn’t quite pull the beer off. It’s a shame... if they could cut down on the sweet finish, it’d be a better beer.
