A new, bizarre monster has emerged thanks to the perilous ongoing collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops (@yakimachief). Gloomfang is a fresh Hazy IPA crafted with EXP 638 and Krush (formerly EXP 586) hops, boasting an ABV of 6.8%. This brew is aromatic and tropical, featuring notes of peach, plum, and sweet lime. This rare beast takes shape from the imagination of our legendary co-conspirator Skinner (@theartofskinnner).

Can from Corti Bros. Pours hazy gold with a large white head that started a la Guinness and then persisted. Aroma of citrus. Med body. Flavoer is citrus - likely lime - and something with prickles - maybe passion fruit. Juicy but not very sweet. More than moderately bitter. Getting a little pale stone fruit and melon. Too complex for my parsing. Really good flavor.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated September 02, 2024. Aroma is hop forward and fruity with notes of pineapple, passion fruit, mango and tropical citrus. Light dank, oily resin notes. Light cracker malt notes and light alcohol notes. Pours a hazy, golden orange with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is a bit sweet with light cracker malt notes. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderately strong hop notes of pineapple, passion fruit, mango and tropical citrus. Lighter dank, oily resin notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid hazy IPA. Nice tropical fruit notes with some lighter dank notes. Balanced malt notes and bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden.
