A well-made beer, but not getting any fruit whatsoever. A bit more presence as it warms, but a little more gentle than I’d expect. Balanced sourness, easy, smooth. Also making me want to do a share based on beer label art—this, Iris, some Fidens to start

On tap at the Portal location. Aroma is fairly funk forward with that classic SARA funk notes of green grapes, apricots, and hints of lemon. Light grain and oak notes with hints of alcohol. A touch of a white wine note. Pours a hazy, golden orange color with a medium small, pillowy, white head that recedes to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly acidic with a slight sweetness and light grain notes. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Lots of bright, fruity SARA funk with notes of peaches, apricots, green grapes and a touch of citrus. Light oak and white wine tannins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, unsurprisingly, a very nice BA saison from SARA. Great funky notes and solid barrel character. A very enjoyable beer.
