Our version of Black is Beautiful is an original imperial stout recipe that leans heavily towards the realm of what we would call a Black Barleywine. The recipe is structured to highlight rich flavors of toffee, burnt sugar, molasses and milk chocolate which we believe is the perfect accompaniment to the adjuncts of peanut butter and cocoa nibs from @cruchocolate.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated August 17, 2020. Aroma is very peanut butter forward with lots of chocolate and lighter caramel and roast notes. Light alcohol spice. Pours black with a medium large, thick, frothy, dark mocha head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers on the edges. No lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is very sweet with moderate chocolate malt notes and lighter roast and caramel. Medium bitterness and light alcohol spice. Loads of peanut butter notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit creamy with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, probably the most peanut butter forward beer I have ever had. Lighter chocolate notes, but the malt character is fairly hidden behind all the adjunct notes.
