Grieskirchner Märzen ist ein weiches, süffiges und traditionell österreichisches Lagerbier. Glücklicherweise verfügen wir mittlerweile über Elektrizität und leistungsstarke Kühlmöglichkeiten, damit wir unser köstliches Bier ein ganzes Jahr über brauen können und dürfen. Damals, vor dieser neumodernen Zeit, war das Märzen nämlich das im März zuletzt gebraute, etwas stärkere Bier und musste den ganzen Sommer über reichen. Heute braucht sich unser Braumeister nicht mehr den Kopf über sich leerende Lagertanks zerbrechen, kann er doch jederzeit Nachschub von dem goldenen Sud brauen.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma is grainy, grassy, dusty, vegetably, apple-like and slightly skunky. Clear pale golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet grainy and bready, following is herbal, honeyish, citrusy and skunky, mouthfeel is mild spicy, while finish is medium bitter. Klare, goldene Farbe mit kleiner, weißer Schaumkrone. Überwiegend malziger, getreidiger Geruch mit hopfig-grasigen Spuren. Geschmacklich süß-malzig, fast brotig mit schwacher Bitterkeit. Süffig und sehr einfach zu trinken ohne Höhepunkte oder ausgeprägten Charakter.

Bottle from beer advent calendar. aaaand... ...it sucks :o) Aroma can be considered as good, bready, malt. Taste though has strong metallic bouquet. Sad sad...

Pours perfectly clear yellow golden, topped with thin white head, non-lasting. Sweet apple nose with some grainy malt and wet cardboard. Grassy bittery body, light and fresh. Slightly lemony feel. Decent taste.

Pale golden, clear body, with a medium, quickly dissipating, frothy, white head.
Aroma of grains, grass, flowers, herbs, some corn, lots of malt sweetness.
Taste follows this, with some more bready notes.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes moderate bitter, quite sweet, grainy, a bit floral, with honey.
OK, although quite boring. Clean and easy, but also flat, too sweet and with too less character for my taste. Average style example like many others.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Clear golden color with a small white head. Malty aroma and flavor with some grassy hops and hay. Medium body medium bitter finish.
