Deep copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, lychees, mangoes and a heavy dose of pine and grain with a lot of bitterness and some sugars, fruits and a dose of caramel as well - very nice and incredibly aromatic. Medium-bodied; Strong bright and floral hop notes at first with a lot of bitterness around the edges and a strong piney and tropical fruit note at first with some alcohol noticeable along with a big, but very balanced malt product with a good deal of sweetness. Aftertaste shows a lot of the dry hoppy flavours with some caramel and sweetness, with a lot of tropical fruits and sweet notes throughout, with a good deal of bitterness around the edges and a touch of flowers as well. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA that shows quite well with a lot of tropical notes along with a balanced malt product and a good deal of astringent alcohol around the end. A good beer with a very nice balance and a ton of tropical notes and complexities that show well throughout. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can purchased from The Beer Cave (Bob's Sunoco) in Callaway, Maryland (near NAS Patuxent River) on 06-March-2018 for US$4,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Pungoteague, Virginia on 19-April-2018.
