500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks for this antiquity!]. Clear, yellow-ish golden colour with average, thick, fluffy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy malty and minimally fruity, hoppy aroma, doughy overtones, hints of nettle. Taste is spicy malty, minimally strawy, minimally fruity hoppy, slightly doughy yeasty, a touch of apricot, nettle, gooseberry. Nice.

Cask @ Boathouse Inn, Shrewsbury. Blonde with a head. It's a hoppy pale and inoffensive session ale.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A clear golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of mild grassy hops, pale malt, grainy malt. Taste of dry grainy malt, bitter grassy hops, straw, okay!

Many thanks to Minutemat for this bottle. Grainy smooth nose. The beer starts fresh dry, not too deep. Grainy parts, weak in body, fresh and smooth. Moderate bitter aftertaste, quite neutral with grainy watery parts.

Bottle from Tanners, Shrewsbury. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - metallic and citric. Taste - more of the same and all finishes in a slightly sickly syrup note. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - too sweet unfortunately.

On cask at the Boathouse in Shrewsbury. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Some haze. Nose - apples predominantly but a touch of caramel in there too. Taste - apples and caramel well merged again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good though I prefer my bitters to be more biscuity.

As bitters go this is pretty good. Pretty clean. Lemons. English hops. Drinks silly quick.

Cask at the Black Horse, Bridgnorth. Golden, a bit of white head. Malty and slightly sulphurous aroma. The taste is much improved from the smell: sweet, almost honeyed, will a bitter-astringent finish. Good for a very basic, no-frills bitter.
