Sample at the Roost pours a murky dark brown with some beige head. Nose has malt and licorice and some brown sugar. Marzipan. Flavor has more cocoa to go with the malt and licorice. Finishes medium bodied, nearly dry.

On tap at Meridian Pint. Pours almost black with a tan head. Port wine, licorice, roasted malt, chocolate. Did not taste like a more traditional BP.

On draft at Dominion Wine and Beer the speakeasy upstairs. Pours a clear cola with a tan head. Aroma of tobacco and licorice. Flavors are bitter roast.

Draft pour at Dominion Wine and Beer, upstairs bar. Poured a very dark brown color, almost black, with a medium sized, off-white, slightly dull tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, chocolate malts, some nice crisp notes. Touch nutty. Really pleasant.
